25 Oct How To NOT Get Trapped In Analysis of Paralysis!

Hi, Jonas K here! I was thinking about an interesting phenomena today of something called an analysis of paralysis. You analyse too so you get paralyzed and not taking action. It’s a common concept and it’s a kind of procrastination. You make up these excuses that you need to learn more to actually take action for example. The funny thing was that this week I met maybe three or four people doing exactly this. For example I cant start to shoot my videos until I get a better camera or what blog should I use, Tumbler or WordPress.
And it doesn’t matter right you can still start to shoot your videos or writing a blog post. Don’t let the analysis paralyze you!
So what can you do about it? Well the first thing is to snap out of it! I just give some tough love if someone start to do this behaviour so they realize what they are doing. For example, I like to have a mansion in Beverly Hills and I wonder what kind of carpet I should have? Should I have a red carpet or maybe blue? It doesn’t matter right now! Just get started! So break the state!
The second thing is to take one immediate action, what is the number one thing I can do right now that moves me forward so I’ll break this pattern? Maybe it is to just shoot a small video, or write that blog post?
And the last thing is to reflect over, what does this really mean in long-term? Maybe it is some kind of friction or fear so you procrastinate and make up this kind of excuses? Because you still get short term satisfaction by learning something new, but it doesn’t takes you forward right now. Of course you should analyze as well and not do stupid things without thinking, but don’t overdo it so you get paralysed!
